09/19-20/15 - Hoosier Outdoor Experience

The Indiana DNR is once again hosting the Hoosier Outdoor Experience at Ft. Benjamin Harrison September 19th and 20th.  This is a great event and a wonderful opportunity to participate in all kinds of outdoor activities.  Volunteers from all over the state spend two days sharing their activities with anyone who is interested in learning more.

ICO will be hosting a booth at the event and we are in need of volunteers to help.  Volunteering is super easy and only requires a couple hours of your time.  The best part is that you only need to have participated in a meet once or twice to be "qualified"!  What we really need are individuals or families that can hang out at our booth for an hour or two and talk to people that are just interested in learning a little more about our sport.

We will also have a super simple sample course set up for people to try a little bit of orienteering for themselves.

Volunteers are welcome to, in fact encouraged, to bring their families along.  There are bound to be a few activities for you to try that you've never tried before and you'll have plenty of time before or after your time helping out the club.

The event is open from 10am-6pm both days, so the more volunteers we have, the more "shifts" we can set up to spread the job around. Please contact info@indyo.org ASAP if you can help (and the times you could help), so we can set up a schedule.

Thank you so much for your help!
