Marott Park Meet, June 26th

Post date: Jun 05, 2010 5:29:10 PM

Info on our next meet at Marott Park is posted.  Please note that the start times are a little earlier than normal.  Indiana weather can be incredibly unpredictable but it's usually a pretty safe bet that it will be hot in June, so we want to try to avoid the heat as much as possible.

Be aware that the warmer wet spring has the foliage in full bloom everywhere, including Marott Park.  Unfortunately that includes a fair amount of stinging nettle.  So, we would suggest bringing long pants if you intend to do more than the white or yellow courses as you'll most likely be off trail.

Speaking of courses we'll have white, yellow, orange and possibly a "special" course  The special course is an attempt to make this smaller more familiar property more challenging for our more experienced members.  In the past we have done things like a "memory O" where the orienteer must memorize all or part of the course to keep things exciting.

Immediately after the meet we will have a short annual meeting, all are welcome to attend.  It's a great opportunity to get an update on where the club is and where it's heading.  The primary purpose of the meeting will be to elect officers for the coming year.  Be sure to let us know if you are interested!

Finally, as we continue to update our website, we'd love to get some photos, old and new, from everyone who has been involved with ICO over the years.  If you have any contact Mike at mgarrison@indyo.org and we'll get them up on the website.

Thanks and we'll see you out there!
